Do recall your mother saying "stand up straight!  Pull your shoulders back!"?  I do.  As well as my ballet teacher, my running coach, the list could go on.  When you stand up straight with your chin parallel to the ground looking up and forward, not only do you look glamourous, but you look confident and amazingly will be able to breath better.  Your diaphram is free to to expand and your lungs fill with life giving oxyen.

 

Have a look at the pictures below.  What do you notice about the pictures of the ladies with bad posture?  Not only do they look uncomfortable, but do they look lean and healthy?  I think not.  Good posture can hide a multitude of sins.  Stand up tall, lift your chin slightly, pull your shoulders back, and tuck your bottom in.  And Voila!  You have a new you.

 

Practice your poise and posture in your mirror at home.  Once you start correcting your stance, not only will you feel amazing but people will comment on how wonderful you look.  It is also important to practice with your heels on.  Start off by getting the correct stance with no shoes on, and once you begin to master your stance, put on your heels.  There is nothing wrong with looking at your reflection in a window to make sure you are holding yourself correctly.  We check our lipstick, what about our stance.
